Cape Town - Bradley Grobler admits he was thrilled to play his part for SuperSport United after putting them into the Nedbank Cup semi-finals following Saturday's 1-0 win over Golden Arrows.

The forward came off the bench to net the winner after 71 minutes at the Peter Mokaba Stadium as Matsatsantsa took another step towards a cup double this season, having already lifted the Telkom Knockout title.

And, speaking after the game, Grobler said: "I think Arrows put up a good test today and credit to them. They made it tough for us and we needed that one goal and I was happy to get it.

"Obviously my job is to score goals but I think at the time we were just falling apart a little bit so we needed the fresh legs and he [coach Gordon Igesund] just put me on in the midfield to keep the ball and calm things down a bit, and I think it worked in the end."

The draw for the Nedbank Cup semi-finals was made on Sunday, with Ajax Cape Town standing in the way of a second cup final this season for SuperSport United.

Mamelodi Sundowns saw off the challenge of Mpumalanga Black Aces on Sunday to set up a semi-final clash against National First Division outfit Vasco da Gama, who dispatched fellow second-division side Black Leopards 3-2.
