Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs defender Morgan Gould said their Premiership title dream would not be deferred, despite the club dropping five points in their last two league fixtures.

Chiefs could only muster a goalless draw against Bloemfontein Celtic before suffering a 2-0 defeat against SuperSport United in Pretoria over the past two weeks.

As a result of the recent developments, Amakhosi have seen their commanding lead in the Premiership standings drop to just seven points, although they do have one game in hand over second-placed Bidvest Wits, who saw off Mamelodi Sundowns 1-0 on Tuesday.

The next assignment for Chiefs will be a match against Ajax Cape Town at the FNB Stadium on Wednesday, and indications are that this campaign will not get any easier, with Nedbank Cup and CAF Champions League football still on the table for the Glamour Boys.

"We lost one game [to SuperSport] and we must roll up our sleeves and come out guns blazing again," said Gould ahead of the midweek match against the Urban Warriors.

While there is still a considerable amount of football to be played, Gould has not given up on the prospects of achieving the treble this season, adding that the league campaign would not be the only priority at this juncture.

"You can never predict the future, but we want to do well and if that means winning the double or the treble, we will give it our best shot," said Gould, who has featured prominently for Chiefs this season.
