Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs defender Lorenzo Gordinho insists it is far too early to rule the side out of the Premiership title race, but feels once they find their stride, the Glamour Boys will be "unstoppable".
The Soweto giants have so far stumbled in both their title defences this term, having already conceded the MTN8 crown to Ajax Cape Town in this year's final, while they currently find themselves sixth in the Premiership, five points off the pace after seven matches.
Gordinho, though, has urged critics to save their judgement for the end of the campaign, telling KickOff: "We'll definitely be up there in the top three (at the end of the season).
"There's still time; it's very early right now to see and base our whole season on six or seven fixtures.
"We just have to carry on with what we're doing and grinding away because we are doing the right things.
"It's not like we're playing negatively; we're playing positively and confidently, so we just need to get to that point where everything's for us. Once that happens then we'll be unstoppable."
Chiefs next league assignment will be the Soweto Derby against bitter rivals Orlando Pirates on October 31, but Amakhosi must first shift their focus to Saturday's Telkom Knockout quarter-final, where they face high-flying Mpumalanga Black Aces.
Kick-off is at 18:00.
