Playing professional football to him is by far one of his greatest achievements, but some of the achievements that stand out for him during his career are winning the Nedbank Cup with SuperSport United, winning the Telkom Cup with Ajax Cape Town and winning the MTN 8 with Orlando Pirates.

Looking back as far as he can remember he wanted to play soccer. Growing up he would cry for a sports ball, be it a golf ball, a rugby ball or soccer ball. By the tender age of 5, Sameehg knew his chosen path would be soccer. At about 14/15 years old he realized he could make something out of his passion and love for the game.

Sameehg believes in taking one day at a time. Although he has a laid back approach to life, he does have plans in the pipelines to secure his future.

One of his fondest memories is playing in the Cup finals. He says it was a great honour. “Winning is by far the best feeling in the world. Knowing that you worked hard, and have achieved the goals you set for yourself as a team and of course enjoying the celebrations that follow.”

The football star that stands out to Sameehg is David Beckham whom he grew up looking up to.

Sameehg is absolutely thrilled about being a part of the Bidvest Wits family. He says they have a great coach, awesome set up and facilities; as well as great players. Everyone in the team knows they’re not bigger than the team.

He also acknowledges the experienced players in the side who have so much to teach them.

His chosen way of destressing after games involves him watching the game if it’s being aired. He usually still has adrenaline pumping and for him that’s the perfect time to take note of his mistakes, strengths and weaknesses.

After training he enjoys going out for lunch or going home to relax.

Doutie says that He isn’t into cars but if ever someone offered to get him any car in the world, he’d choose a Lamborghini.
