Gcaba eager for first derby win

Cape Town - Despite being involved in three Soweto Derbies for Orlando Pirates, defender Ayanda Gcaba has never been on the winning side.

Since joining the Buccaneers in 2012 from Free State Stars, Gcaba has only been part of three derby matches against Kaizer Chiefs, losing two and drawing one.

The 29-year-old is expected to start in the match against Amakhosi on Saturday after cementing himself as a vital part of the Pirates team that recently qualified for the CAF Confederation Cup final.

"I know I have played three times in the derby and I haven't got a win. I have to stay positive and talk to my teammates to fight as a team," he told KickOff.

"We know it won't be an easy game over the weekend and Chiefs know that their confidence is high but we have to get a result. We have to talk as players and see how we can fix what's wrong.

"We are playing not so great football and we are not getting the right results. We know it is frustrating, but things will come right," Gcaba concluded.
