Gamildien set to leave Celtic

Cape Town - Bloemfontein Celtic spokesperson Sello Nduna has confirmed that striker Ruzaigh Gamildien will leave the club during the upcoming January transfer window.

The 24-year-old Cape Town-born player was put on a transfer list alongside Jabulani Ncubeni, Itumeleng Duiker and Letsie Koapeng.

Nduna also confirmed that Gamildien is still contracted to Phunya Sele Sele until the end of next season.

“Yes he is on a transfer list and he is not the only player who is on a transfer list,” Nduna told Sport24.

“If you can check, you will see that there are more than four players who will be off-loaded by the team soon.

“He is still contracted to us but should any team come during the January transfer window we will be keen to release him.

“If not that he will stay until the end of the season, then we will take it from there.”

Nduna also dismissed reports stating the reason behind Gamildien’s departure are based on a recent bust-up between him and head coach Ernst Middendorp.

“There was no bust-up between Gamildien and Ernst Middendorp at all.

“He is just being off-loaded that’s all.”

Gamildien joined Celtic in the second half of the 2011/2012 season.
