Gamildien ready for Ajax chance

Cape Town - Ajax Cape Town’s brand new addition to the PSL squad, Ruzaigh Gamildien, has found his first week of pre-season training with the Urban Warriors tough, but insists that he will work hard to attain the standards at Ajax.

After spells with Bloemfontein Celtic and AmaZulu, where Gamildien really made an impact on the PSL, he returned to Cape Town to play for Milano in the National First Division.

Zaiky, as he is affectionately known, started training at Ikamva this week and immediately gained the respect of his teammates for his work ethic and technical ability.

“It’s been tough," said the midfielder on the clubs website.

We’ve been training hard this week. It’s taking me a while to adapt to this kind of professional environment again.

"Things are looking good though, Ajax play my kind of football, so I am happy to be here.

"I know most of the players who are here and they have accepted me into the group, so that’s also good.

"It’s also especially nice to be close to my friends and family. When you go through a difficult patch in life, your friends and family are always there to help you through things,” said Gamildien.
