Cape Town - New reports surfacing that former Bafana Bafana coach Clive Barker will shift to the General Manager role at Mpumalanga Black Aces.

Sport24 reported earlier this morning that Barker has been given the axe by the club following a string of bad results.

The midweek loss to Ajax Cape Town seemed to have been the last straw as seems that Aces would much rather hold onto the experienced coach than offload him completely.

According to African Football, 70-year-old is set to stay at the club a few more years as GM with a stint in coaching the club’s youth teams.

Reports suggest that Barker’s assistant, Johnny Ferreira, has been axed as well and that Jacob Sakala will take over the reigns.

Aces find themselves 13th on the PSL standings with 23 points.

AmaZayoni are set to face Moroka Swallows on Saturday, March 14 at the Mbombela Stadium and whether Barker will be in Aces' technical area is still unknown.

Kick-off is at 15:30.
