Rustenburg - Platinum Stars head coach Allan Freese is delighted to reach his second consecutive Telkom Knockout final following their 1-0 win over Mamelodi Sundowns on Sunday.
Dikwena continued their dominance over the big spending Brazilians as they eliminated them from the Ziwa Mo competition at the Royal Bafokeng Sports Palace, courtesy of Eleazar Rodgers’s second half strike.
“I’m very happy because we managed to reach the final,” said Freese.
“I told my boys before the game that we only need to win this match to get to the final again.
“And we managed to do it. So now I am not stressing anymore because we don’t need to go for a draw to find out who we are going to play in the final.
“Now we know who we are going to play against and we are looking forward to it.”
The reigning champions will face the rejuvenated SuperSport United in a quest to retain the title they won last year.
United booked a place in the final after humbling the grieving Orlando Pirates 2-0, thanks to Lebogang Manyama and Dove Wome strikes, at the Orlando Stadium on Saturday night.
The date and venue for this years’ final is yet to be confirmed.
