Freese confident of Dikwena survival

Rustenburg - Outgoing Platinum Stars coach Allan Freese is confident that his former team will survive the 2014/15 Absa Premiership relegation battle.

Stars are currently fourth from bottom and are separated by two points from fellow strugglers Moroka Swallows and Free State Stars, with a game in hand.

Freese, 58, told Sport24 in an exclusive interview on Friday that Dikwena will be competing in top flight football next season.

"I’ve always said that Platinum Stars will not get relegated,” Freese said.

"They will survive this relegation battle; I have no doubt about that. Platinum Stars will be competing with the rest in the PSL next season.’’

Dikwena confirmed the departure of their 2013/14 cup double-winning mentor last week due to a poor run of results, but the Estcourt-born tactician confirmed that he is yet to decide on his next move.

"I have decided to relax for just a little bit or maybe for a while.

"This is a good time for me to spend more time with my family and all my loved ones. Then I’ll see what the future holds for me.”
