Cape Town - Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Stanton Fredericks believes Siphelele Mthembu will play a big role for the Sowetan giants this 2015/16 season.
Bloemfontein Celtic lost 0-1 [2-1 on aggregate] to Amakhosi at the FNB Stadium in order to qualify for the MTN8 Cup Final.
“The Chiefs and Celtic game was very entertaining,” said Fredericks of the semi-final to Sport24.
“I thought Celtic kept the counter attacking for a bit too long and didn’t work on scoring some goals.
'Stiga' as the midfielder is affectionately known said that he is very impressed with Siphelele Mthembu whom he said will play a good role for Chiefs this 2015/16 season.
“On the other hand I am quite chuffed to see how Mthembu is stepping up to the game for Kaizer Chiefs, really impressive.
“I believe he is really going to play a good role for the team this season.
The former Bidvest Wits player said that Ajax Cape Town have a confidence boost after defeating Wits, who are front runners for PSL honours.
“Wow! Finals can go either way. I don’t think anyone can have the upper hand.
“Ajax has a confidence boost after overcoming Wits whom in my opinion are title contenders this season, and it’s always difficult to overcome them at home.
“I know that Ajax is a youthful team who like to express themselves on the field and every youngster wants to overcome the likes of Chiefs and Pirates.
“This is an opportunity of a lifetime for them and it could be dangerous as they will be out to attack and put themselves out there. ‘
“This will also give Steve Komphela a chance to settle some scores- and this will also be a test to see if he is the right man for the job.
“This should definitely be an interesting one,” he concluded.
