Cape Town - Free State Stars will welcome an in-form Orlando Pirates for an Absa Premiership clash at Charles Mopeli Stadium.

Stars played to a third successive draw in the league when they held Maritzburg United to a goalless draw on Saturday night.

The Free State side has claimed 15 points from nine home matches this season.

Their next three league opponents are Mamelodi Sundowns (home), Moroka Swallows and AmaZulu (both away).

Ea Lla Koto are placed 13th on the Absa Premiership log with 21 points from 20 matches.

Pirates recorded a fourth successive league win when they beat Polokwane City 3-1 at home on Saturday.

The Soweto side have claimed 18 points from 10 away matches this season.

Their next three league opponents are Kaizer Chiefs (away), Chippa United and Black Aces (both home).

The Buccaneers are placed fourth on the log with 35 points from 20 matches.

In head-to-head stats, Stars and Pirates have met in 50 league matches since 1986.

The Buccaneers have claimed 23 wins compared to six for Ea Lla Koto, while 21 matches have been drawn.

Stars have won four of their 24 home matches against Pirates, suffering nine defeats in the process.

When the teams met earlier this season, a goal from Klate handed Bucs a 1-0 home win.

Kick-off is at 19:30 on Wednesday, March 4.
