Cape Town - Free State Stars midfielder Katlego Mashego admits the last two seasons have been regrettable, but insists the team are eager to make up for it in the upcoming campaign.
Ea Lla Koto have twice had to fight off relegation over the last 24 months, although they did pick up form at the latter stages of last term with a five-match winning streak that saw them finish in ninth spot in the Premiership standings.
Mashego is now looking forward to an improved showing in 2015/16 after being named the club's Player of the Season at their end of term awards dinner in midweek.
"The team is entering this season with an improved focus, especially after we showed towards the end of last season that we have the quality to compete," Mashego told Football411.
"We let ourselves down in the last couple of seasons and we cannot afford to do that again.
"The awards were a morale booster for the entire team because it gives us incentive to work even harder so that we can have even bigger celebrations at the end of next season."
