On the first juncture, Ertugral accepted a job offer from Kaizer Chiefs and on the second time he left for Sivasspor back in his home country Turkey.

It has been reported that when Ertugral left his post this time around in Janaury 2014, he triggered a clause which entitled him to pay the club a settlement fee which was instated because of the coaches past doings with the club.

Ajax has been in contact with Ertugral and his representatives about his failure to make the payment.
