Ertugral hints at Ajax stay

Cape Town - Muhsin Ertugral is confident he will be in charge of Ajax Cape Town when the new season kicks-off.

The former Kaizer Chiefs manager took over four games before the end of the Absa Premiership season, and the Urban Warriors picked up eight points as the club drew clear of the relegation zone.

“On Monday I’m on the plane, but the contract is on the table, so next season I’ll be here," Ertugral said.

Ertugral was initially appointed as the Cape club's technical director, but stepped into the caretaker managerial role after Jan Versleijen’s sudden departure.

Ajax beat Golden Arrows 3-0 on Saturday night, to finish 14th in the table, and Ertugral said it was crucial for the club's stakeholders to ensure an improved performance next season.

“The whole management, everyone here, and the Ajax Amsterdam contingent need to sit down. We can’t have this situation again," said the Turkish mentor.

“Everybody must sit together and plan how we will get out of this, but I feel now that everybody is on board - the players and the management."
