Emotional de Sa remembers Senzo

Cape Town - Roger de Sa is still reeling from the loss of his former goalkeeper Senzo Meyiwa.

The former Orlando Pirates coach was emotional as he recalled some of his fondest memories of his late friend Senzo Meyiwa, in an interview with EWN.

De Sa coached Meyiwa while in charge of Orlando Pirates and the two's careers took off as the Sea Robbers made their way to the final of the African Champions League.

Unfortunately for the pair, Pirates were unable to add a second gold star to their badge as they finished runners-up in that competition.

The current Ajax Cape Town boss shared some of his intimate memories of his time with Meyiwa, particularly after a match against TP Mazembe in Congo, where the pair spent three hours after the game reflecting on life without any distractions.

In the interview De Sa also gives a glimpse into Senzo Meyiwa's sense of humour and fondly remembered how the pair would tease each other in a light-hearted manner.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
