Cape Town - Free
State Stars head coach Kinnah Phiri says the club is looking to sign as many as
seven players when they host a trial for some National First Division players
snatches PSL golden boot
The club's first aim is to keep hold onto in-demand striker
Moeketsi Sekola, who will lift the Golden Boot at Sunday's PSL awards gala
after finishing the Premiership season as top scorer with 14 goals, leading to
Mamelodi Sundowns' reported interested in the player's signature.
Free State finished the Premiership season in ninth place
and are looking to reinforce key areas of the side to ensure a push into the
top eight next term.
"We have released the players [on holiday] now and told
them to return on June 15," Phiri told on Stars' official website.
"Next week we'll be having a trial with some National
First Division players who we have been keeping track on,"
"We need two goalkeepers; we need left and right
fullbacks, a winger and one or two strikers.
"We had a problem with scoring goals this season and
now it's time for us to sign another striker who can really score."
