Dumitru slams Maponyane

Cape Town - Veteran coach, Ted Dumitru, has come out in defence of Platinum Stars winger, Masibusane Zongo.

The former Bafana Bafana coach believes the player should be given the freedom to express his true South African talent.

“Marks Maponyane should apologise for disrespectfully criticizing 'mother nature' which blesses many SA players,” Dumitru said on his Facebook account.

“Pure talent, inspiring skills and creativity in football can only be rejected or criticized by brainless people.

“Disregard those self-made TV experts – they are a shame to SA Football.

“Let the magic of those skillful players shine and I love it.”

It’s not the first time that former Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates’ striker has spoken against showboating.

Maponyane recently criticized Pirates winger, Thabo Rakhale, saying showboating does not win games and the skills displayed by the player are not effective enough.
