Dube Birds to lose their flock?

Cape Town - Moroka Swallows is set to part ways with a bulk of their players that played for the team during the 2014/15 season in which they were relegated to the National First Division.

Sources within the club told Sport24 that the team will be parting ways with a number of their players following Wednesday Board of Directors meeting.

“I can tell you that the meeting on Wednesday was to map a way forward after the team was relegated and now the CEO, Leon Prins will break the news of who will stay and leave,” the source told Sport24.

“Players such as Mothokozisi Yende, Dikgang Mabalane, and Sipho Mngomezulu will be let go, while Lucky Baloyi will return to Kaizer Chiefs following a season-long loan spell.”

According to the source, the club will also cash in on some players as they have already done with Vuyisile Wana and Lantshene Phalane, who have been sold to Bloemfontein Celtic.

Veterans like Siyabonga Nomvethe as well as Lerato Chabangu have made it clear that they want to remain in the Premier League, and will be given a chance to talk to clubs that are interested in them.
