'Downs wait on Billiat scans

Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Khama Billiat is set to undergo scans this week to determine the extent of the knee injury he sustained against Golden Arrows.

The Zimbabwe international needed to be stretchered off in the final moments of Saturday's Chatsworth Stadium encounter, which saw the Brazilians slump to a shock 2-1 defeat.

The bad news could now be compounded by a spell out for Billiat, who provided the assist for Sudnowns' only goal of the game, although the Chloorkop giants will know more once the playmaker undergoes a medical check.

"We are waiting for the scan's result and we will only know then," club official Thulani Thuswa told KickOff.

"Honestly speaking you cannot really know how severe it is until the result of the scan comes back but from my looking, it's not bad."
