Johannesburg - A Mamelodi Sundowns official has confirmed that the club have completed the signing of Ghanaian defender, Rashid Sumalia, who will join the club at the start of pre-season.
According to the Soccer-Laduma website, Sumalia, a centre back, will be joining up with the Brazilians ahead of the new season, consequently putting the writing on the wall for his countrymen, Mumuni Abubakar and Emmanuel Baffour, who have both failed to make an impact in South Africa.
The 20-year-old has already represented Ghana at both under U20 and U23 level, and went on trial to French club, RC Lens, back in 2011.
Meanwhile, the club are also looking into signing another Ghanaian, Mahatma Otoo, as they attempt to bolster their strike force for the 2013/14 campaign.
Sundowns already have a number of foreign players in their squad, and after signing Belgian goalkeeper Glenn Verbauwhede, it seems that their may be somewhat of an exodus at the club before the start of the new season.
