'Downs ready to continue Chiefs chase

Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns will target three Absa Premiership points when they welcome Bloemfontein Celtic to the Lucas Moripe Stadium.

Sundowns played to their first league draw of the year 2015 when they were held 1-1 at Black Aces last week.

The Tshwane side has claimed 24 points from 11 home matches this season.

Their next three league opponents are Platinum Stars, Kaizer Chiefs (both home) and SuperSport United (away).

The Brazilians are placed second on the Absa Premiership log with 47 points from 24 matches.

Celtic played to an eighth draw of the season when they were held 2-2 by University of Pretoria earlier in the month.

The Bloemfontein side has claimed 14 points from 12 away matches this season.

Their next three league opponents are Maritzburg United (home), Chippa United (away) and Ajax Cape Town (home).

Phunya Sele Sele are placed fifth on the Absa Premiership log with 34 points from 24 matches.

In head-to-head stats, Sundowns and Celtic have met in 53 league matches since 1985.

The Brazilians have claimed 27 wins compared to 11 for Phunya Sele Sele, while 15 matches have been drawn.

Sundowns have won 15 of their 26 home matches against Celtic, suffering four defeats in the process.

When the teams met earlier this season, a goal from Pelembe handed the Brazilians a 1-0 away win.

Kick-off is at 19:30 on Wednesday, April 15.
