According to KickOff, the 23-year-old was not impressed with what the Chloorkop side had to say.
The agent of Gumede, Vusi Manana, added that the offer was not up to the defender’s standards and the player will likely extend his contract with Dikwena.
"We were not happy with what Sundowns offered. The last word we heard from them was asking us to make a counter offer," said Manana.
"We are meeting with Platinum Stars again on Friday to see if we can iron out a few things with them and probably agree on a new contract.
"If not then we are free to speak to anybody."
Gumede is in the last six months of his contract and rumours suggest that Orlando Pirates are also keen on the defender.
