'Downs not relinquishing form

Cape Town - Mpumalanga Black Aces will host an in-form Mamelodi Sundowns in an Absa Premiership match at Mbombela Stadium.

Aces suffered their 10th league defeat of the season when they went down 2-1 away to Orlando Pirates last month.

The Mpumalanga side has claimed 12 points from as many home matches this season.

Their next three league opponents are Maritzburg United (home), Bidvest Wits and Polokwane City (both away).

AmaZayoni are placed 12th on the Absa Premiership log with 26 points from 24 matches.

Sundowns racked up a third successive league win when they defeated Chippa United 3-0 at home last month.

The Tshwane side has claimed 22 points from 12 away matches this season.

Their next three league opponents are Bloemfontein Celtic, Platinum Stars and Kaizer Chiefs (all home).

The Brazilians are placed second on the Absa Premiership log with 46 points from 23 matches.

In head-to-head stats, Aces and Sundowns have met in 32 league matches since 1985.

The Brazilians have 23 wins compared to five for AmaZayoni, while four matches have been drawn.

Aces have won three of their 15 home matches against Sundowns, suffering nine defeats in the process.

When the teams met earlier this season in Tshwane they played to a goalless stalemate.

Kick-off is at 19:30 on Wednesday, April 8.
