Downs not fazed by 'hoodoo'

Johannesburg - Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper Kennedy Mweene insists that his side are not thinking about their poor record against Swallows ahead of Saturday's clash between the two sides.

According to the Football411 website, the Brazilians have claimed just one win from their last seven league clashes with Swallows and can ill afford to slip up against Zeca Marques' men this weekend as they look to maintain their push for league glory.

Despite this unfavourable statistic, Mweene says that the 'hoodooo' is of no concern to the Downs squad.

"I think this whole think about history and hoodoo teams is only in the head and if you pay attention to it, you are just adding unnecessary pressure for yourself. Record books are meant to be rewritten."

Sundowns are currently three points clear at the top of the Premier Soccer League standings, although second-placed Chiefs have a game in hand over Pitso Mosimane's men.
