'Downs hopeful of injury returns

Cape Town – The Mamelodi Sundowns technical team will be holding thumbs that some of the eight injured players will be ready for their midweek Tshwane Derby against Supersport United.

According to Sundowns official website, upfront Downs are sweating over the injuries of Cuthbert Malajila who is nursing a hamstring injury, while Katlego Mashego is still recovering from a quad strain.

In the middle of the park Elias Pelembe still carries the quad strain that he aggravated on international duty. Percy Tau is slowly making progress on his knee ligament strain and is now on the third week injured.

At the back is where The Brazilians have a lot of headaches. Alje Schut suffered a quad strain in training, while Mario Booysens has a groin injury.

Mzikayise Mashaba will hope to recover in time from the calf strain that saw him miss the Bafana Bafana match against Ivory Coast.

Still in the left back position Tebogo Langerman will be unavailable for the Derby as he still serves his suspension.

Kick-off is scheduled for Wednesday, December 03 at 19:30.
