Johannesburg - Mamelodi Sundowns have given Lerato Chabangu his clearance and the player is now free to find a club of his choice.
The striker is notorious for his off-the-field shenanigans which has often led to him losing his place in his respective club’s starting line-up.
The Thembisa-born Chabangu had rejoined Sundowns at the start of last season, after rejoining them from league champions SuperSport United, but after being injured Chabangu didn’t feature in the Downs’ starting line-up as much as he would have liked and was out for most of the season.
Now the former Bafana Bafana player sees himself clubless after the Chloorkop based side handed him his clearance and paid him out of his remaining contract, which still had one season left on it.
The Player’s Union helped Chabangu in obtaining the clearance after he asked the body to help him, as the player failed to receive a single offer during the transfer window.
