Rise and Shine looked set to open the scoring early on at the King Zwelithini Stadium, but Sakhile Ngubo saw his effort well saved by goalkeeper Thela Ngobeni.

Katlego Babile then fired the Brazilians into the lead after 24 minutes, hammering home an unstoppable free-kick which flew past Kgothathso Masha and into the back of the net.

The Tshwane giants were then 2-0 up just 10 minutes after the restart as Tsepo Ntlaba's volleyed effort from close range put the reigning PSL champions in cruise control.

Polokwane were unable to muster a single effort on target in the second half, while their woeful afternoon was compounded in injury time when Kgopane Maboko was shown a second yellow card and subsequent sending off.

Pitso Mosimane's men now head through to the semi-finals, along with SuperSport United, University of Pretoria and Mpumalanga Black Aces.
