'Downs, Wits did not agree Vila terms

Cape Town - Sibusiso Vilakazi's agent Mike Makaab explains what happened with the strikers proposed move to Mamelodi Sundowns.

The 25-year-old has been touted to make a move away from Bidvest Wits since the end of 2014/15 season with ‘Downs and Kaizer Chiefs being his likely suitors.

According to KickOff, Makaab reveals there was interest from the Chloorkop side and the initial outcome came to Wits and Sundowns not agreeing terms.

“It’s simple, two clubs did not agree terms and the player couldn’t move,” said Makaab.

“There was no hidden agenda or any funny things happening behind the scenes; it’s as simple as two clubs not agreeing terms with each other.

“And this happens a lot during transfer negotiations not only in South Africa but around the world as well. It’s really becoming increasingly difficult.

“Vila is a talented player; there is no doubt about. He still has a long-term contract with Bidvest Wits which is the most important thing.”
