According to KickOff, Sundowns have held their league winning record following Chiefs and Swallows' stalemate.

Last season Pitso Mosimane’s charges won 10 PSL matches in a row to help them secure the Absa Premiership title which is not the record.

To clear all confusion Sundowns have won 11 straight league games without any loss, while chiefs only steered to eight wins this season.

Chiefs however came close to beating the record last season but fell short by two games after drawing to Maritzburg United.

The records:

Longest Winning Run in a Single Season (League only): 11 matches – Mamelodi Sundowns, 2006/07

Longest Winning Run in a Single Season (All competitions): 13 matches Kaizer Chiefs, 2014/15

Longest Unbeaten Run (All competitions, including CAF): 19 matches Mamelodi Sundowns, 2006/07

Longest Domestic Winning Run (Local only): 15 matches Kaizer Chiefs (2014/15, including two matches from the end of last season). Sundowns previously held this record with 14 consecutive wins achieved in one season, 2006/07.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
