Durban - AmaZulu goal poacher and last season's club player of the year, Ayanda Dlamini, told the goal.com website on Tuesday that he will not be threatened by having to compete for a starting berth this season.
The KwaZulu-Natal-based club strengthened their striking resources by recruiting former Kaizer Chiefs target man, Sthembiso Ngcobo, on a season-long loan deal during the off-season.
It is expected to be a tough battle for a starting place at AmaZulu as the former Orlando Pirates forward, Bongani Ndulula, is also among the strikers' list.
Ndulula joined Usuthu from the Buccaneers in the second half of last season, scoring four goals.
"I am aware that there is a lot of competition, but I believe that it is going to be a healthy one. Our main objective is to help the club and that is what we are all striving to achieve,” Dlamini said.
AmaZulu will commence their new campaign against Orlando Pirates at the FNB stadium on Thursday, after the match was moved from the Orlando stadium.
Kick-off is at 19:00.
