Cape Town - AmaZulu midfielder Goodman Dlamini was given a reason to smile during his side's slow start to the new season after being named the club's player of the month for October.
Usuthu continued to struggle last month, as they were defeated by Chippa United at home, drew away against Free State Stars and crashed out of the Telkom Knockout quarter-finals at the hands of Mamelodi Sundowns.
Dlamini was thrilled to be recognised but was quick to admit that their Premiership form is worrying, as Wilfred Mugeyi's men remain the only team without a win and are placed last in the table.
"As a player this adds to one's confidence, but we're all concerned as a team on how things have gone in the league," he told his club's official website.
"We also appeal to our supporters not to lose their patience with us, because we're working hard to turn the situation around and we need them to stand behind us."
The prize, which includes a handsome R2,000 as well as a night's stay for two at the Suncoast Hotel Towers, was officially handed over to the midfielder by interim coach Mugeyi.
