In Group A, Bloemfontein Celtic climbed to the top of the standings after the opening five rounds of fixtures, beating Kaizer Chiefs 1-0 on Saturday before drawing 1-1 against Maritzburg United 24 hours later.

Polokwane City, meanwhile, are now between Celtic and Chiefs in second following back-to-back wins, over basement side Moroka Swallows and fourth-placed University of Pretoria.

In Group B, Mamelodi Sundowns continue to lead the way as a 2-0 win over Chippa United and 1-1 draw against Bidvest Wits left them two points clear of Orlando Pirates, who beat Mpumalanga Black Aces before losing to Platinum Stars.

AmaZulu remain glued to the bottom of the standings after losing all of their five matches so far, scoring just three goals and conceding 12 as they continue to mirror the first-team's performances in the Premier Soccer League.
