Dikwena plots Chippa loss

Cape Town - Platinum Stars will look to hand Chippa United a third successive Absa Premiership loss when the teams meet at Royal Bafokeng Stadium.

Stars played to a second successive draw when they were held to a goalless stalemate at home by Bidvest Wits on Sunday.

The Rustenburg side has claimed nine points from six home matches this season.

Their next three league opponents are Free State Stars (away), Black Aces (home) and Bloemfontein Celtic (away).

Dikwena are placed 12th on the PSL log with 16 points from 14 matches.

Chippa suffered a second successive league loss when they were beaten 1-0 at Kaizer Chiefs on Saturday.

The Eastern Cape side has claimed six points from seven away matches this season.

Their next three league opponents are SuperSport United (home), University of Pretoria (away) and Maritzburg United (home).

The Chilli Boys are placed eighth on the Premiership log with 21 points from 15 matches.

In head-to-head stats, Stars and Chippa have met in three top flight league matches.

The Chilli Boys have claimed two wins, with the other match ending a draw.

Stars’ only previous home match against Chippa was a 1-1 draw back in 2012/13.

When the teams met earlier this season in the Eastern Cape, the Chilli Boys claimed a 2-0 home win.

Kick-off is at 19:30 on Wednesday, December 17.
