Cape Town - Platinum Stars coach Cavin Johnson reveals his side is full of confidence ahead of a crucial Premiership clash against Orlando Pirates at Orlando Stadium.

Johnson could not have asked for a better start to his second stint in charge of the club after beating Ajax Cape Town 2-1 in Rustenburg on Saturday night.

The former SuperSport United coach was brought in to replace Allan Freese in a bid to help the club avoid relegation.

The club's season is not quite in a dire state, thanks in part to Saturday's win, which sees them head into the midweek clash five points clear of the relegation places.

And, Johnson says his side is ready for the challenge of taking on an in-form Orlando Pirates side.

"I think they will be the favourites because they are playing at home," he told KickOff.

"They will come at us very hard and the idea will be to catch them out when they lose possession.

"We have been working very hard in training and I am happy with what I am seeing. We are fit, we are ready and the players are motivated for this game.

"If you look at our position on the log, you will understand why it is important for us to win all our remaining games. We need to move up and finish the season on a high note."

Johnson is confident he has identified weaknesses in the Buccaneers line-up for Dikwena to exploit, but would not elaborate on what they might be.

"Every team has their weaknesses and, while I will not tell you our strategy, we will certainly take advantage of some of Pirates' weaker points," he added.

"However, at the end of the day, we must focus more on what we can do to win the game rather than on their approach to the game."
