Dikwena counting on Rodgers

Rustenburg- Ahead of the much anticipated Telkom Knockout Final against SuperSport United, Platinum Stars head coach Allan Freese has revealed that he will be relying on target man Eleazar Rodgers to end his side's goal scoring problems.

The defending champions will battle a rejuvenated Matsatsantsa side for the R4.25 million prize money on offer at the Orlando stadium on Saturday.

The 58-year-old mentor is well aware of his side's struggles in front of goal so far this season but he is pleased with the impact made by his strikers, Rodgers and Ndumiso Mabena.

“We have been struggling just a little bit upfront.” said Freese.

“But we have Ndumiso Mabena who is very good with the off the ball movements and he has scored the other day.

“I’m just happy that Eleazar Rogers can score goals as well.

“He has been scoring goals here and there and am quite happy about his contribution.’’

The North West Tycoons will be looking to clinch the Ziwa Mo competition for the third time in their history this afternoon.

They managed to beat Orlando Pirates 2-1 to claim the silverware in December last year at the Mbombela stadium thanks to a brace from Mogakolodi Ngele.

Kick-off for this encounter is set for 15:00.
