Dikwena, Usuthu seek PSL lift

Cape Town - Platinum Stars and AmaZulu will both be desperate for an Absa Premiership victory when they meet at Royal Bafokeng Stadium.

Platinum Stars saw their winless streak stretched to six matches when they were beaten 2-1 away at Ajax Cape Town in their last PSL fixture.

The Rustenburg side has claimed five points from a possible 12 in home matches this season. Allan Freese's side are placed 15th on the Absa Premiership log with eight points from nine matches.

AmaZulu suffered a sixth defeat when they lost 2-1 at home to Kaizer Chiefs in their last league fixture. The Durban club has claimed three points from six away matches this season.

Usuthu are placed 16th on the Absa Premiership log with four points from 10 matches.

In head-to-head stats, Stars and AmaZulu have met in 18 league matches since 2003/04. Usuthu have nine wins compared to seven for Dikwena, while just two matches have been drawn.

Stars have won five of their nine home matches against AmaZulu, suffering three defeats in the process.

Last season, Usuthu won 2-0 in Durban before Dikwena claimed revenge with a 1-0 win in the return game in Rustenburg.

Kick-off is at 18:00 on Saturday, November 22.
