The utility defender Gcaba believes that the spirit in the team “is proper for a derby.”

“It will be important to focus in the next few days. We have to go to this match well prepared; our fans want this (victory) match,” said Gcaba on Pirates’ website.

Gcaba is confident that their hard work will pay off when they meet Kaizer Chiefs at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday, September 20.

“We won’t have nice sessions; it is serious stuff from now; it is hard work from today, but we are ready to work hard for Saturday.”

“It is a match we have to face with a lot of responsibility.”

Vladimir Vermezovic took his charges through their paces yesterday when the Sea Robbers trained at Rand Stadium. The Serbian coach welcomed back veteran defender Lucky Lekgwathi to the squad after he recovered from a foot injury.

Also back in the frame is Helder Pelembe. The striker has been away with the national team of Mozambique but has returned to training ahead of the clash.

Kick-off for the Soweto derby is at 20:15.
