Cape Town - Former Orlando Pirates mentor Roger de Sa is being linked with the Ajax Cape Town head coaching position.
Monday's Cape Times reports that De Sa had talks with Ajax executive director Ari Efstathiou over the weekend about taking the job vacated by Muhsin Ertugral last month.
It is understood that the Urban Warriors are just waiting for confirmation from mother club Ajax Amsterdam to ratify De Sa's appointment.
However, De Sa appeared muted when asked if he is to undertake the role. He confirmed that he was in Cape Town but said the talks were merely "informal".
He said that while he loves Cape Town (he coached Santos for two seasons) it would be "difficult" just to pack up and leave Johannesburg as his wife has a good job there.
Assistant coach Ian Taylor has been in charge of the team since Ertugral resigned. He led them to their first win of the year when they upset Wits 1-0 at Cape Town Stadium on Friday night.
