Johannesburg - Ajax Cape Town coach Roger de Sa has issued an apology to referee Robert Smith as ordered by a Premier Soccer League Disciplinary Committee hearing last month.

According to the supersport.com website, De Sa was found guilty of “insulting” Smith when Ajax lost 2-1 at Mamelodi Sundowns in their final game of 2014 and has accepted the verdict.

“With reference to the incidents involving myself and Mr Robert Smith in an Absa Premiership match on the 20th of December 2014 versus Mamelodi Sundowns, I sincerely offer my apologies to Mr Smith. The matter was addressed at the appropriate forum and all issues were resolved,” De Sa said in his letter.
