Cape Town - Ajax Cape Town head coach Roger De Sa says his side is preparing for a tough encounter when they take on Mpumalanga Black Aces in the Premiership.

Ajax face three of the Premiership bottom five in their next three fixtures and the coach expects the encounters to be physical.

"Those are tough games, for sure," he said. "Those are the games where those teams put everything out there.

"They leave everything on the grass - blood, bones and meat. It's unbelievable - but that's what the game is all about."

The teams have met twice this season with each winning once; Aces in the league and Ajax got revenge in the Telkom Knockout Cup.

De Sa admitted the Urban Warriors' 3-0 win in the cup was one of the team's best performances of the season.

"Aces was our first League defeat this year," he told reporters. "Away from home in Nelspruit we lost 1-0.

"We managed to get back at them a couple of days later in a cup game where we probably gave our best performance of the season.

"It was a fantastic performance where we dominated from beginning to end.

"So hopefully we can turn it around from our first league game, and keep the momentum from this last game and get a good result."

De Sa is confident the cup win will give them the confidence to repeat the result in the league on Wednesday.

"We beat them here and were pretty good on the day," he said.

"I just hope we can do the same. And with some improvements and new faces, hopefully we'll be even better."

Kick-off is at 19:30.
