De Sa blames 'amateur' defence

Johannesburg - Ajax Cape Town coach Roger De Sa has blamed their poor defensive display for their 4-0 PSL loss to Orlando Pirates on Saturday.

The former Buccaneers mentor endured a humiliating return to Orlando Stadium and believes the result of the match was because of their poor defending.

"Our defending was very bad," said De Sa.

"Our defending on set pieces was very amateurish.

"There are lot of questions than answers now but this is a young team, but we’ll keep working hard to improve."

Pirates found the back of the net through Kermit Erasmus, Siyabonga Sangweni and a brace from Lehlohonolo Majoro.

The Urban Warriors moved to a 4th position on the log as the Soweto giants moved up to a fifth spot.

Ajax will face the struggling AmaZulu at the Cape Town stadium in their next game on Tuesday while the Buccaneers will face Moroka Swallows in their traditional Soweto derby.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
