According to Soccer Laduma, Daniels feels that there is no point for Matsatsantsa to head into the final and not lifting the trophy.
“We’ve reached the final, but what’s the use if you don’t win it?” questions the former Ajax Cape Town defender.
“We want to take the next step and lift the trophy, then we have something to show for.”
After losing four consecutive games under Cavin Johnson, United hierarchy decided to hand the former Platinum stars mentor the sacking and lured former Bafana Bafana coach Gordon Igesund to the helm.
“Winning this cup will prove what a quality team we are. We had a bad start to the season but we came out of it, and we have a new coach and we’ve turned things around,” insist Daniels.
“We’re very positive about things and we’re happy to have reached the finals.”
Meanwhile, Platinum Stars captain Vuyo Mere admits that Dikwena are the underdogs when they meet United at Orlando Stadium on Saturday, November 29 for the final.
Kick-off is at 15:00.
