Cape Town - Senegalese goalkeeper Bouna Coundoul is frustrated by the manner in which his transition to Platinum Stars has been handled.

This was confirmed by Platinum Stars football manager Senzo Mazingiza, who said that the club hoped to receive word from the Department of Home Affairs before the end of the international break.

"He [Coundoul] is a very experienced and professional player so you can understand why he is disappointed at not being able to play," Mazingiza told KickOff.

Platinum Stars insist that they have fulfilled their end of the bargain by submitting all the necessary documents to the relevant department within the specified time, after securing the services of the player in February this year.

"He is frustrated with the delay in the issuing of his work permit. There is nothing that the club can do, really, but to wait for the process to run its course.

"Hopefully when he returns to the country early next week there will be something to smile about. We just have to wait," added Mazingiza.

Coundoul is currently on duty with the Senegal national team and is expected to add considerable value to this Platinum Stars team if and when the finer details of his transfer are finalised.
