Khune fined R25 000 by PSL

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs' league win was slightly soured after the club itself, their manager, Stuart Baxter, plus Bobby Motaung and star goalkeeper, Itumeleng Khune, were punished for various infringements during the season.

A summary of the findings of he Premier Soccer League Disciplinary Committee hearings that were held earlier in the week:

Itumeleng Khune:

Khune was found guilty of bringing the League into disrepute by reason of statements made on social network Twitter.

Khune was fined R50 000.00 of which R25 000.00 was suspended for 12 months on condition that he was not found guilty of a similar offence during the period of suspension.

Khune was also ordered to pay the costs of the sitting of the Disciplinary Committee.

Bobby Motaung:

Motaung was found guilty of insulting a match official. He was sentenced to a fine of R 20 000.00 suspended for 12 months on condition that he was not found guilty of a similar offence during the period of suspension. Motaung was also ordered to pay the costs of the sitting of the Disciplinary Committee.

Kaizer Chiefs and Stuart Baxter:

The club and Baxter were found guilty of disregarding a PSL directive concerning the participation of suspended club officials in official football activities.

Baxter was sentenced to a fine of R20 000.00 suspended for 12 months on condition that he was not found guilty of a similar offence during the period of suspension.

The club was fined R 50 000.00 and was ordered to pay the costs of the sitting of the DC.
