Cape Town - Jomo Cosmos midfielder and captain, Thabang Monare, has spoken out about the joy of winning PSL promotion.

Monare has been a reliable figure for Jomo Sono throughout the 2014/15 campaign eventually which saw them snatch promotion from the claws of Black Leopards with their 1-0 win over Moroka Swallows on Wednesday evening.

The club has been through two difficult seasons in the first division with Jomo Sono recently claiming that it is hell to be in the NFD.

Monare’s statement on the clubs official website complies with his manager’s biblical rhetoric.

“First and foremost, I would like to thank the Almighty God for giving us strength to persevere even through challenging times,” said Monare.

“Secondly, my heartfelt gratitude goes to our fans for their support throughout the season.”

During the playoffs the Cosmos fans presence was tangible.

It can only be hoped that they continue to turn out for their side during next season's PSL.

The Cosmos captain claimed that the reality of the situation has still not fully set in.

“I still cannot believe this is happening (promotion to PSL) it feels like someone is going to wake me up and tell me I have been dreaming.”
