Cohen loving life at Ajax

Cape Town - Larry Cohen joined Ajax Cape Town just under a month ago and has been fitting in very well with his new teammates.

Partnering Yagan Sasman on his debut in the MultiChoice Diski Challenge 2-2 draw with Bidvest Wits, Cohen showed just why he will be a valuable player for the Urban Warriors.

The tough-tackling defender made a name for himself in the PSL with some rock solid performances for both Chippa United and Moroka Swallows, respectively.

Talking about the beginning of life at Ajax Cape Town, Larry Cohen had the following to say on the club's website, “This is a great team, with a great set-up here at Ikamva.

“The facilities are really amazing. I’m looking to do well with the team. This is a great bunch of guys and there’s a very good atmosphere in the dressing room, which is nice to have.

“I know most of them from playing against them and they’ve welcomed me into the family,” commented Cohen.

Playing in the MultiChoice Diski Challenge presented a good opportunity to gain some match fitness, which Cohen did adequately.

“Training has been really good, the intensity is high and the overall standard is also of a high quality. This showed in the team’s performances recently.

“I played in the Diski team and it felt good to be playing again. Even though we didn’t get the result we wanted, there were plenty of positives to draw for the team and I also felt like I put in a decent enough performance.

“I will keep training hard to keep improving and getting fully fit again,” concluded Cohen.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
