Coetzee eyeing Euro switch

Cape Town - Prodigious defender Rivaldo Coetzee would only be interested in a move away from Ajax Cape Town only if it’s to an overseas club.

The 18-year-old acknowledged that some of the big teams had shown interest in him, but was not keen to make a local switch.

The Bafana Bafana international admitted that a transfer to Ajax Amsterdam would be a dream.

"Nothing is official yet. I am waiting to hear from my agent," Coetzee told KickOff. "Ever since we closed last season he told me nothing about clubs wanting me. I am contracted to Ajax and I am focused here.

"For me, moving away from Ajax to another South African team is not a priority for me.

"To go to Amsterdam, one of the biggest teams in the world who also develop their young players would be a highlight and a very good step for me."

The Urban Warriors will compete in the pre-season tournament against SuperSport United, Crystal Palace and Sporting Lisbon kicking off at the Cape Town Stadium on Friday.
