Coach: Amakhosi are hungry

Johannesburg - Kaizer Chiefs coach Vladimir Vermezovic says his men are determined to claim the league title with three matches to go.

Amakhosi are three points off the pace in third place after their 2-0 victory over Mpumalanga Black Aces in Polokwane over the weekend.

And Vermezovic insists Chiefs will fight until the end.

"I think games against Sundowns and Ajax are going to decide our destiny," says the man affectionately known as Vlad V.

"I think except for Tinashe (Nengomasha) all my players have never won the league if I'm not wrong, but that's what I have heard that none of them except for Tinashe have won the league with Chiefs. It is a big motivation for all my players to change this and write their names in history and they are willing to fight to the end," he says.

"It is a new experience for them to be so close and we will see how they are going to react especially in the next two league games against Sundowns and Ajax, those are two big games for us. It will be games for maximum points and it will be very interesting how my players are going to react in this situation," Vermezovic says.

The 47-year-old also says he's been hugely impressed with his defence.

"We will miss Valery Nahayo because of the red card, but I have to say Dominic Isaacs did very well when he came on. I think all our defenders have done very well in our games recently and they deserve some credit," he concludes.
