Phunya Sele Sele endured a tough period in the opening stages of the season under their recently sacked mentor, Ernst Middendorp, which resulted in them battling for survival in the relegation zone.
With recently appointed coach, Clinton Larsen, at the helm of the club with a new mandate for the season of reaching the Top 8, the Upington-born left-back hinted that it is still possible to reach the given mandate despite a slow start.
“It’s possible, anything is possible and you can’t just say it’s impossible.” Cloete told Sport24 in an exclusive interview on Friday.
“It takes a bit of time to settle but once we find our feet we will do well.
“We just have to be positive as a team, it’s not going to be easy though but I believe we can still manage to finish inside the top four.
“It’s not over yet, there are still too many games to be played and this is football, anything can happen.”
With Larsen only taking part in the last two matches, the 32-year-old also revealed that he is enjoying his re-union with his mentor, having worked together at Maritzburg United at the early stages of last season.
“I’m enjoying his company at the club and working with him again.”
“I have worked with him before while we were still at Maritzburg United.
“He is a good coach and we have always worked well together and am sure his presence will contribute positively to the club.”
With 13 games left to play, Celtic are currently in 10th spot on the log.
They will kick off their new year with a tough assignment against the runaway leaders, Kaizer Chiefs,at the Free State Stadium on Wednesday, February 11.
